Governor Sanford never attempted to justify his behavior. He openly admitted the sinfulness of acts. His reference to biblical judgments helps him cope with his sin, helps him understand that the mercy of God is available for authentic repentance, and helps restore hope and faith after such a severe breech of trust with his family and citizens.

Like I've said, the guy is skating real close to the edge. He needs to move to Buenos Aires and lead a more bohemian lifestyle.
