I agree. The news is terrible and gold takes off. I have two thoughts. The economy is so bad that gov will have to print more money so gold takes off, but that would not explain stock market. I saw some reports that said they expect job losses to stop in Oct, Nov. Maybe that would explain market. Also yields on US treasuries went up and then dropped off at end of day.
