It is that way on TZ and some of the moderators abuse just because they don't like somebody.

Bob has a Q&A thread with a couple of assistants and I think that they should be removed.

That right is totally abused on IHUB. If the mod is a bull bearish posts get deleted it's censoreship not moderation. If you complain to an admin the post might be restored much later when nobody will see it but usually the requests for a review go ignored.

What has been said can not be taken back by the individual either; and secondly I would consider it unconstitutional. It is not in the light of the first amendment.

I've always had seriously mixed feelings about having it on iHub. On one hand, it dramatically decreases the workload (or ideally should) of a limited number of admins who already struggle to keep up with workload of a size I used to deal with by myself here, in lieu of having a life or anything resembling one.

On the other hand, it does get abused. Not often in the overall scheme of things (when compared to the 25k+ non-deleted posts daily), but even a single time it's used in a disengenous or incorrect way bothers heck out of me and most certainly the post's author.

Silicon Investor will never gain that feature.

I still haven't decided on Talkzilla, but am leaning toward doing away with it there once I either can make myself more available to do the job myself there or have hired an Admin.

Or perhaps a hybrid. Moderators being able to delete spam, but having to report anything else. The main justification for it has always been that with so much traffic, moderators will see really egregious violations that *need* to be deleted long before we typically will.
