freeus - first of all make sure the broker did issue a margin call ! You should be able to choose which stock to sell ! Also, I would never answer the call by pumping more cash into your account.

As far as I know, they give you a 48 hr. or so period, then they sell for you if you haven't done it yet, of your own choice.
