Palin mentioned "not wanted to waste taxpayer's dollars" by staying on once she had decided not to run again. I agree, she has other plans somewhere that don't include being Governor of Alaska.

Lots of us on the right don't care for her

And lots of us on the right don't like it that our fellow Repubs slimed her. Don't expect me to vote for your selection if he makes past the primary.

. Like Pat Buchanan, she's completely unelectable but doesn't know it.

When Obama declared, would you have called him electable?

Well, I suppose there is always one candidate who is unelectable - such as McCain, Kerry, Gore, Dole etc.

If you are simply comparing the skills and background of Palin versus Buchanan, I do not see your logic.

There is no way that she's quitting politics. If she were quitting, she'd serve out her term but not run for re-election. She's paving the way for a run at the White House. Like Pat Buchanan, she's completely unelectable but doesn't know it. Lots of us on the right don't care for her. It's not a simple left/right thing.

Great post, IMO—I emphatically agree on all counts. However, you should not expect to find support for your thesis in these parts. I was almost banned from this board last year for saying unflattering things about Palin.

The "perceived wisdom" on the Fox All Stars tonight was that whether Palin liked it or not, doing it like this took her out of it.
