Do US oil companies ever sit on oil they have access to in order to sell later at higher prices? Or do they always pump at full capacity? Or alternatively, do they ever engage in hedging in the oil futures markets to take advantage of future high prices? It would seem to me that doing those things with their industry knowledge would help them goose profits reliably.
