If the US converted from oil to NG we would consume an additional 112.4 billion cubic feet of NG per day, based on the raw energy content of each and most recent daily US oil consumption. That's about twice current total US NG consumption, so the country would have to triple it's production and distribution capability.

Converting to a NG based economy doesn't seem practical to me. The math is similar to the math used by the ethanol proponents...pathetically faulty. Even converting autos over to NG looks like a pipe dream from the mathematics standpoint.
