I agree. Another big thing will be app/program availability unless everything will come through the browser. And I am sure google has its eye on this as well.

Apple does need to keep its eye on this but since they make hardware, they could incorporate the google os on their hardware if needed and be affected less than what msft would be unless the hardware that is needed becomes so basic that Apple will have trouble maintaining margins.

It is always interesting.

Other thoughts:

Those sub $200 "smartbooks" will be highly subsidize by the likes of Verizon & AT&T to $0 with data contracts.

Will be geared to SAS (Software as A Service). With the inherent advantages and disadvantages. (Think app store, without the store).

Could make wireless phone calls, i.e. replace a cellular phone. (I have no idea why netbooks with Gobi or smartbooks with Snapdragon don't already do this. I am tempted to start and open source project to do this myself.)
