That's absurd if by "do nothing" you mean choose not to do another stimulus spending bill. There are moves that can be made that don't entail an additional several hundred billion in spending.

If the feds print and mail everyone in the country a large enough stimulus check then you can deleverage the consumer overnight.

Not going to happen though. For one thing they still haven't even figured out a proper economic model to work from.
