You look at the marginal cost hiring an additional employee and weight that against the net marginal revenue he can produce. Net profit has nothing, whatsoever to do with it, and gross profit is at best a redundant consideration. What a Fing idiot. Who cares if an employee can add revenue... revenue doesn't mean shit. If he can produce GP$'s then likely he can produce net profit $'s as he won't up your fixed costs... if he does you have to look deeper into net margins. I do this everyday dumb shit...
