29 Dem Senators voted for the resolution, 21 against.

In the House, 82 Democrats voted for, 126 against.

They would have needed much more than a majority to have defeated it in the House.

I think you underestimate the value of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 in convincing Saddam to allow the inspectors back into Iraq.

Bush's folly, his epic failure of leadership was invading anyway...

It the Democrats had had a majority the Iraq war authorization would have gone down in flames.

And we would be in much better shape right now.
