Ground flaxseed, oat bran, barley, quinoa, are some of the alternatives that do not create these effects.

I eat flaxseed and take 3 oat bran tabs daily. How the heck's a guy gonna make a sandwich out of this stuff?

Thanks.. so maybe barley flour is an answer per your post ?

BTW the switch to rice bread and pasta did not help my son's issues... He eventually outgrew it..

Barley pancakes ... hmmmm ! :o)
