I also learned to make change since the cash registers didn't do that in those days.

Boy isn't that the truth. I've had more change stories then I care to remember but was really floored last week when a young kid at the gas station counted my change back to me in the proper manner. It's the way it was always done 30 years ago, today it stuns me when it happens.

I've never had to make change, and I'd be poor at it. My wife is a whiz. She worked at the cafeteria in Juneau and always had change in her hand before the customers could even think of it themselves.
