I'm wondering how many people are changing their habits - their normal way of life. How many are moving their money out of brokerage accounts, banks, savings accounts, converting stuff. How many of you are making plans in anticipation of what we don't know? How many of you have gone into a "bunker" mode? I have to confess. I have gone to the mattress. I'm doing everything I can to protect myself in ways I would never have imagined in the past. I have tried very hard to understand what these people in Washington are doing, I read everything. I've tried to understand the other side - what they are trying to do - even tried to imagine I could be one of them - but it makes no sense. I am truly scared for our country. Today, a very good friend who owns a successful ad agency that I do a lot of contract work for, told me that she can only operate for one more month and then will have to lay off her 15 employees. She struggled for 10 years to get the creds and now says she has to walk away. She offered it to me. Take it over - because she can no longer make it. This is just so sad because I helped her set up the business. I know this is not an isolated incident.
