Bear,

<<In the fall of 2008 the basic numbers said we were broke. Bush was hated for his deficits. Obama was either ignorant or dishonest when he said no family making less than $250k would have their taxes raised.>>

I would say that there was a lot of ignorance at the end of the year as to how bad the economy was going to get. I thought the bailout vote was only about a month before the general election making it difficult to say that anybody should have had that much foresight into what was going on. Very few economists called this and I would say none in the Bush administration, or for that matter, none of the present major economic people in the Obama administration, had the foresight to see what was really going on.

I think Obama's opponents are making a mistake to simply disagree or take issue with everything that Obama has said or done. There can be no middle of the road without thoughtful discussion and, unfortunately, just simply saying no which is most of what I have been seeing, for me, conjures up images of juvenile behavior. The hypothetical situation I see is that Obama could come up with a solution for middle east peace and the way his opponents are acting, they would all come out and complain that North Korea is a bigger problem and that Obama should have dealt with them first.
