Re: 401(k) investor response. My firm administers 401(k)'s for a number of companies and hundreds of participants. Only two participants phoned in and went to cash.

Roly, If you remember Joe Granville, he is the man whose Word used to be like a god's word being followed by Wall Street. Later he made so many wrong calls that people soon ignored him. He became Bearish for a number of years and suddenly became a Raging Bull last year---and he has been right ever since...Now he is saying that the reason the market is not going down so much is that the small investor, many of them Baby Boomers, are calling the shots. He said the market will soon turn significantly up beginning in January because of the small investor, many of whom are invested in IRAs and 401Ks. The small investor since the crash in '87 has not been selling but have been Dipping as the Big investors have been giving away their shares...
