If you think Madoff represents capitalism, you have not the faintest idea of what capitalism is.

Even his world record theft was small compared with theft in socialist and communist financial systems.

Our great, estimable and venerable idol Uncle Al KBE, did a good job of keeping the US$ alive and kicking. It wasn't he who went nuts with irrational exuberance in the Biotelecosmictechdot.com speculative fever nor the subsequent "I am a mindless Zombie" borrowing binge to buy excessive houses at high prices and wastrel consumables.

His job was just maintaining the money system. What people do with it is their business. All he does is tinker with interest rates and pixelation processes for newly issued money,

Blaming him for a mortgagee losing their loan to a deadbeat house "owner" is like blaming a doughnut maker for the obesity epidemic. Obesity is caused by people choosing to put things in their gobs and swallow. Blaming the wheat grower is ridiculous. What people do with the wheat is up to them.

If wheat growing was a legal government monopoly, then the wheat board could put the price of wheat up, but that might or might not reduce obesity, but it would be disruptive to other economic activity.

People should take responsibility for their own decisions rather than blame Alan Green$pan. Most people prefer not to be confronted with the results of their own stupidity and greed.
