The point of course is that health care IS being rationed, albeit quite nonsensically. If there's gonna be any "savings" from Obamacare, it's gonna come from rationalizing that process. And also from knee-capping providers by jamming down the reimbursement rates from the 800 lb gorilla that will be the national health option. I think there will be a niche for private insurers in the "supplemental" coverage (i.e, to create the higher tier coverage for industries and individuals that don't want to be stuck with what will be a more limited basic coverage safety net). So if the goal is to provide a basic level of medical care for all, it can be met. But the bells and whistles will still be reserved for the priveleged....

i'm all for health care rationing

Since Arnie Schwarzennegger has declared nurses as California's public enemy number one, I'd be happy to ration his health care if he ever showed up in my PACU.

And according to Michael Moore in Sicko Ricky and Robert should be provided housing when they are released from the hospital. Because every hospital providing medical services is bound to ensure that patients have adequate housing to go home to even if they were living on the streets when admitted. Just trying to keep 'medical' costs down :)

How idiotic, but if you think about it, the bums are smart.
