I certainly sit, on most issues, to what one would consider as the left of Obama and I don't see "caving." Looks to me more like back and forth. If every bill passes is in the "middle" of the Democratic party that means it will be well left of most in this country. The Democrats can write off the Republicans but eventually the center will turn on them as well. It is a recipe for a very short stay in power. OTOH, we'll likely have a shiny new government led health care system that will last generations....so perhaps the trade off is worth it. Slacker
