I love how you pretend that "the dues are lower now," because the truth is that they have never been higher in any point in history.

We were talking about taxes.

Young couples can't afford new homes because current homeowners ran up the prices.

"Current homeowners" can't run up prices... only buyers can run up prices. Have you seen the affordability ratings lately? The best in many years.

Dual income is now the norm instead of a luxury, along with all of the added costs associated with it.

Yeah I agree. That's a prosperity issue I've complained about many times (and been told by Republicans and libertarians that I'm nuts). But it's not a tax issue. You could even blame the demise of the unions.

College used to be enough for a professional career, now it's just the extension of K-12 education. Post-graduate degrees are now the norm.

Yeah, so? You go to work later.

You do know that the top percentages are taking most of the free cash flow from the economy, much more than they did in the past. Regular guys like you and me suffer.

Kids and teenagers these days are asked to grow up much, much faster than they were asked to before, all because parents neglect to be parents.

I was totally ignored as a kid... "go out and play". The kids I see now are pampered to death... but they have HUGE 'self esteem".

You say you paid your dues to society, but the truth is that you're now reaping the rewards. Every time you whine about it (and complain about those you think are chronic whiners), you are seeing the effects of the "I got mine" society that you helped to create.

I've paid taxes, including SS for 45 years. Never liked it but never complained. I've always voted for school issues despite having no kids. I always figured I was fairly successful, not great not bad, so I could get by.

You on the other hand sound really bitter. You've got a great job with one of the countries premier companies. I don't get it. Why do you resent me for working my ass off all my life?
