Racist as ever there was racism

1st - I find Powell rather liberal in certain ways. he is quite old-styled repub.

as to what I quoted from you... I wouldn't agree with that. perhaps misguided. but then I went at someone like Andrew Sullivan in a moment of hyperbole as a traitor to gays and lesbians, but as a lesbian, that is for me to say... really ain't up to anyone else, though they might wonder about him. and I wonder about log cabin repubs... who are mostly, very mostly, white men who make good incomes - that is the connection to the repub party. that is a conflict between brothers and sisters. and... turns out I was wrong about Sullivan, anyhows. tho he did get all into Iraq. but he has retracted. he is a conservative by name, but one whose thoughts make sense, are not based in any prejudice, but in notions about governing etc... and he cares about people and people being cared for. I learn from reading him and at times he nudges me toward an idea of his, and other times we simply agree to begin with. go figure.

however... it is not homophobic for a straight person to call him a traitor, nor is it racist for a white person to call powell a traitor... it is simply not their place. to question and wonder is their business. beyond that is out of place.

just my opinion.

>>The only people in modern times who've earned the right to speak about racial injustice and oppression are people like Saint Condoleeza and she is too decent to make herself an object of such a discussion.>>

No, the average black person has the right to speak about injustice and they hate the Republican's for what they have done to them. The Republcians have drug their feet on integration and oppose affirmative action. The black community supports affirmative action as do the dems.

I ask again why do the blacks vote over 90% for the dems year after year.

It is because they know the right wing is their enemy.

Get it, their enemy!

Don't you think the black community had a right to have a person on the supreme court they wanted and could be proud of?? Clarence Thomas is the dumbest person on the supreme court. He votes in lock step with that sociopath Scalia.

That reinforces an ugly sterotype. The black community would have liked to have had a smart supreme court justice, not a bottom of the barrel type of guy.
