Why?


Not depravity IMO, but immaturity. As you grow up, it just isn't necessary anymore, at least for most people.

Ted, I'm probably not going to say anything that will make sense to you, but I'll just put it this way.

One of my favorite Biblical authors is King Solomon. He had many, many wives, and you can only imagine how beautiful each and every one of them must have been.

Yet even Solomon realized just how morally depraved he was to take that many wives. It robbed him of true intimacy with a life partner, and it left him with nothing but meaninglessness. Wise as he was, he still had to learn the hard way about God's plan for a man and a woman.
