If we do get to something more like a truly postracial world, common sense rules would apply instead: Any homeowner who has a cop show up to make sure his home is not being broken into should be grateful and polite, even in a case of mistaken identity that can be cleared up quickly and easily. Any cop on the wrong end of an angry citizen in their own home should verify the facts of the situation then walk away to deal with real problems elsewhere. I still think that as a result of this incident, much more of that will happen in the future.
