That situation could not happen where I live (Province of Ontario).

How would you feel about a private health insurance company pressuring you to arrange a advance care consultation at age 68? Would it occur to you they would have an incentive to encourage clients to sign directives declining care?

The advanced care conference I attended with my mother did not include anyone who had the slightest interest in the cost of whatever decision she made.

It would not want to be in a long term care facility without a directive specifying my wishes.

Perhaps you would like a prolonged death on a ventilator and tube feed but its not for me.
