I doubt very seriously that you are correct that the information was available to the officer. Maybe someone on the thread knows this.

Also you chose to ignore the rest of my question.

The driver wasn't arrested because he did nothing. He did not act like a horse's A__. The professor did. The only question I have about this is whether his abusive conduct rose to the level of a crime, or whether the officer just got p.o. over the abuse and misused his authority to arrest the man.

He was only arrested because he disturbed the peace and hampered an officer doing his duty to investigate a reported crime. No one else was arrested because no one else was being such a horses ass.
