>>"I hate the government, everybody is out to get me, and people are hopeless greedy idiots". Sure, there is a grain of truth to all of it -- but to use it as you guiding view of the world is psychotic.<<

unless it is accurate.

i'm sorry, but the debt that will destroy this nation is not a symptom of a "grain of truth."

it is a symptom of a silo of truth.

if we are going to steal trillions from our own children, ought we not fess up and be honest about being thieves instead of kidding ourselves that we are pretty good for giving them even more debt so they could be even greater debt slaves?

maybe if our self centrism wasn't so great, WE'D FIX OUR FLAWS and our children wouldn't have to grow up as debt slaves.

as it is, we pretend we are all good and fuzzy and the future for our children looks incredibly dark.

what is, is. i'm just honest about it even if it ruffles the feathers of people of who can't admit what is true b/c it runs counter to their imagination of what things should be.

sure, people put a happy face on things - bernie madoff was an incredibly nice and fund guy to be around. think about it.

oh, and wait until the going gets rough - we've robbed our future generations BLIND *during the good times*. see how great things get when people have a tough time to eat (you know, b/c being great and caring and all that stuff *always* ends up in mass debt induced poverty, right?).

>>GST, the problem is that nobody in power wants to solve the problems, they just want to line their own pockets.<<

and since you doubt this... wait until you see what gets passed for health care. be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

although, causing poor kids to subsidize the wealthy elderly probably will make some elderly happy b/c they can leave more of their bills to someone else.

you know, a "gift."
