Elroy, I did not consider Blue Shield's rate impossibly low, just not wildly outrageous. Blue Shield PPO is considered a very good payer by the average doctor and will probably get the patient preferred appointments. As you know, what a doctor or hospital bills means nothing unless you have to pay cash.

I am sorry if I left the wrong impression.

Why would your doctors prefer Medi-Cal to Medicare? That I find interesting.

It would be interesting to know the Medicare and Medi-Cal reimbursement rates for the discussed procedure. Do you know the CPT code?
