I have a hard time imagining what a guy without a weapon in his own home or yard is going to do with his voice that would make a cop with a gun quake. When you get to the situation of Gates in HIS yard in the middle of the night in what is obviously a pretty nice area, the whole thing becomes ridiculous. I don't think I want a nation of suck ups. Dale is tired of this- and I'm not going to change my mind.

Around here we had a previously non-violent offender shoot and kill two cops after he was cuffed (in front) and in the back of the police car a few years back. They didn't see the perp as a threat but he had a handcuff key on a chain around his neck, uncuffed himself, managed to grab a gun, shot them both, took a citizen hostage, shot himself. Now the local agencies require that every arrested person be cuffed in back. Dude was cuffed and in the back of of the car, what harm could he do to two armed and trained police officers?
