If the trading halt had led to pent-up demand, then the market would not have caved in Tuesday morning at the open. Brokers only became jammed up after the rally started, after 10:00 AM. The same thing happened in July '96, at the spike bottom. I'm surprised that there has been so much comparison to 1987, because this has so far resembled 1996 or 1989 much more than 1987, IMHO.
