TOS is an online broker, and QT is a charting application that displays data supplied by any number of data sources (brokers). It's comparing apples to oranges.

Aside from any good or bad features of TOS, there are two very big negatives to my way of thinking.

Firstly its a Java app and Java has probably been a security risk 90% of the time on a steady state basis.

Secondly, although the latest Java 1.6 has a known moderate and unpatched security risk ... the prior 1.5 version, that Atrade TOS uses, has a severe security risk and should have been patched to the 1.6 version 4 months ago ... this is far from the care and handling I demand when it comes to my financial data.

Lastly, a purely personal note that awhile back when Atrade finally admitted to a breach of their servers and loss of customer data ... I had to change a long held Yahoo ID due to 60+ a day spams where I previously had none ... took about a year for the volume to die down but that ID still gets several spams each and every day.

In other words they have demonstrated an ongoing lack of heightened concern for their customers financial security and an unwillingness to acknowledge and immediately alter unsecure behavior. I advise extreme caution.

This isn't what you asked, but I'll offer it just the same. Open an account with Interactive Brokers and stay with QT. You'll get very favorable commission rates and, from QT, the best customer service on the internet.
