HI TJ,
I agree with everything in your latest posting except the remark
about Greece. Like the US South, prior to 1863, only slave owners
could vote. So Socrates was sentenced to take poison, not by
a mob but by a majority vote of the slave owners.
Seeker of Truth
P.S. The underlying question is how well democracy works in
comparison with, e.g. present day China. The voters twice voted
in or submitted to a phoney vote, for the scoundrel Bush. After
1948 the Chinese people had to endure for almost 4 decades another bunch of scoundrels, not elected.

TJ, you have become seriously delusional in your minimalizing the USA's role and effects on WWII...

also in your liberal attitude of Japanese effects on China across 20 years of Rape, Pillage & Plunder up to and includng WWII....then of course Mao...

The real Chinese story is just beginning to unfold...once the rural masses's aided by the Cities underprivileged put it all together it will make the Great Mao Revolution seem Tame by comparision....it will require 100000 Tianamen's to put it down if possible at all...

HK will become mass paranoia with the influx of mainland big wheels seeking refuge....

Upgrade your personal body armour and hand guns it will afford you an additional hour before your end....

regards

"to attribute the wwii victory to america is stretching the truth by vast amount, i.e. while america's entry shorten the war, but the outcome was fated"

i don't think that is correct.Without American intervention the outcome was anything but fated.

Doubtful that the English(who spent their nights huddled in the dark as bombs fell)... and French( who watched the Germans loll in their cafes) slept well knowing their success was never in question.
