What a dumb fucking program. Lets evaluate. A) It's only taken a week for the program to? run out of money. On top of that, it's slated to have 2 billion injected into to continue.... That's not wasteful spending at all... B) After seeing how much was being spent, the EPA went behind everybody (including the NHTSA) and upped the requirements, screwing many customers out C) People are trading good cars, such as this volvo. D) Screws junk yards out of a good motor and drive train to sell. from philyt, youtube Doesn't our wonderful President think that maybe his family in Kenya would really like to live in a nice Volvo as this? I thought he was? all about helping the poor and downtrodden. Why destroy these cars when they could be donated to less fortunate? gavincurtis, youtube Tax dollars at work ... you? and I are paying to destroy a car that should be resold. Same thoughts....

I want a cash for cluckers program. I eat the rotisserie chicken and leave nothing but bones. I bring the bones back to the chicken place or any warehouse club and get a $5 rebate from the government so long as I leave there with a new rotisserie chicken or a tub of chicken salad.

I'm calling BS. That looks to me like an S80, which Volvo didn't make until 1998. What they're doing with that car I don't understand, but that model wouldn't be eligible for the CARS program in the first place (has to be 25 years old, right?). Mind you, if it WAS an eligible car the whole process would still be as disgusting. The car "disabler" is analogous to "end of life counseling" under Obamacare.
