LOL. the opposite of what your guy said.

on the other hand......... your guy may have only encountered brits by virtue of the north african campaign only for example. just to give him a break.

bill holden or not from film note, i interviewed plenty of folks in berlin that hold a different view all the way around. and that was before the wall fell, aside from folks in greater west germany during that same occupation post war prior to reunification. east germans having had war history erased except if you could meet one of the old guard.

plenty of bill holden films were made by all participants....since when do you watch movies to calculate what in fact occured? <g> something new for you no? if I say all of brasil is like watching the film Pixote, would that be fair? would it be correct? would it be accurate? would it tell the entire story of daily life in Rio? or anywhere else in Brasil?

was your german on the french coast during the landing? would he have said it was fought by brits fighting like germans? for example. a coast in many ways not weakened at all by the millions of tons of material lobbed at it before the landing.

its all bullshit regardless. and material since the first war, has won most of the wars in the end, so the point stands anyway, if out of context.

i.e. country to country.

re: gorilla and hearts and minds... nothing has changed. taliban/al quaida/latin american/phillipines/indonesia/viet cong ad infinitum. all the same for the last 100 years to the present day. none of those have been "won" and none of the one's today are likely to be any different.

blah blah blah.
