Big Pharma has for decades increasingly become a stable of attorneys and salespeople who do not actually develop medications. Big Pharma: 1.) negotiates licensing deals with the smaller pharma firms which actually develop drugs, such as Gilead or Amgen, then; 2.) finances large drug trials and use their legal expertise and well developed relationship with the FDA to gain approval; 3.) contracts out the production of the components of these drugs, and if necessary actually manufacture then; 4.) and most importantly use their sales force and attorneys generate sales to provide royalties for the small pharma firms who actually develop medications. .
