The (R)'s keep telling us that everyone can get care - just go to an ER. But that's bullshit. Will an ER give a diabetic insulin every few hours? Maybe once. Forever? No way.

My experience in the ER was interesting. When I got there, I kept getting triage/postponed for more urgent stuff, like car accidents with head injuries.

I had a young Asian intern who was stitching up my hand. A huge, fat woman waddled in and dropped a baby right on the floor in front of us. My doc abandoned me and helped her and the baby. When he had her squared away, he finished stitching me up. I was in there about an hour an a half for 10 stitches.
