Novell's PR service is really hurting.

PHH Vehicle Management Services

I think they are part of the un-Fortune-ate 500. See, again, goes to show you that not only are there individual suckers born every minute (a la tang and a la Li), but there are corporate suckers born every minute.

It's obvious that these people didn't do their homework. Besides, they were stupid enough to publicly associate themselves with the greatest software loser of the 90's--Novell.

Don, thanks for the URL--http://www.cnnfn.com/digitaljam/wires/9710/29/novell_wg/

It's worth noting that Dr. Schmidt, Chief Priest, again stated that the company was not for sale and didn't need to develop alliances. Arrogance incarnate. Pride goeth before the fall. And the rope is getting slippery. Glad I'm short. Losers are long.

Worse than being a long investor is having Novell on a r‚sum‚. Nice way to have it thrown in the trash. Novell--the mother of all losers. So, they gave WordPerfect to Corel in exchange for worthless stock. Must take a PhD to run this outfit.

Doesn't anyone find it strange that NOVL would put out a PR to announce that some little company in some remote region of the earth has selected NDS and IntranetWare ?

This 1500 user license does not cost more than $100,000 so what is the big deal ? Announce a $500 million deal and perhaps eyes will pop out but a lousy $100,000. If this is how NOVL is going to tell us that the product is selling, then they are sending out the wrong message. It's telling the street that NOVL is desperate. And what of the company that installed it. A little micky mouse outfit and only God may have heard of.
No wonder the market cap. of this dog has dropped over $600,000,000 over the last little while.

Gheesh !! NOVL marketing must be smarter than this.

We had all better start counting the number of PR's that hit the wire
to estimate sales for next quarter earnings. This is ridiculous.
A billion dollar company shoutings its head of a $100,000 deal. Lousy marketing !!

Bottom line: I don't like the smell of this. Something is fishy. Is NOVL about to cook its books lke Informix...I certainly is shaping up that way.

NOVL HAS to tie the knot. The situation is only getting worse.

Hi Gerald,

We know PHH over here very well, they lease us (Novell UK) all our company cars. They seem to have a big share of lease market.

A funny (interesting) true story: about 18 months ago I had some problems with my PHH car, however I could get no service from the personnel at PHH because their Network was down !!! several times over the course of 2 - 3 days. I had a hire car because it was all PHH could arrange for me at the time. By the time system came back up I had built a raport with this assistant and I jokingly said that they should use our software for their network, to my suprise the assistant agreed with me and said "anything would be better than this crap, it's never up for more than a couple of hours"

Guess who "Strings" their network togeather?

I hope that PHH UK follows PHH US lead.

just let me say that PHH (providing their network is up) provide excellent service.
