Hi Adrian, <I hope that PHH UK follows PHH US lead.> This is Novells' whole problem. They just "hope" business will come banging on their door without any kind of market saturating ad campaign or salesmanship. It's real easy. First you have someone look up the head guys name at PHH UK in a "Contacts Influential" type dirrectory. Let's say John Doe is the person to talk to, so you call up and ask "Is John is around?". If you call and ask to please speak to Mr. Doe the secretary or whoever will start asking a bunch of questions and burn you off. When you get John on the phone you say something to the effect of: "Hi John, this is ______ I'm with Novell. We do a lot of business with your company and I've recently noticed you seem to be having a lot of problems with your network. Novell has the best, most reliable network operating software on the market today and I would like to get together with you to show you how we can help make your network more effecient. What would be a good time, when you're not too busy, that I could stop by and talk to you for a few minutes?" Or better yet hop in the company car that the stock holders are paying for and go knock on John Does door. After all, the only reason any employee of any company should ever have a company car is to create a good impression when they pull into a customers parking lot. Why is salesmanship and marketing such a total mystery at Novell, Inc.? John Slitz has been at Novell for a month and a half and it doesn't look like he's done a damn thing so far. If he didn't start kicking ass and taking names the second day on the job, he's the wrong man for the position. Has anyone at Novell followed up the "live leads" to make sure customers are being contacted and to find out if they made a purchase and who's system they bought? I'll bet you a cookie that Microsoft has already found a way to steal your leads. It's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the "live leads" press release. I'll bet you another cookie that Gates is at least as smart as I am, and twice as sneeky. Microsoft is your enemy. Attack! No war was ever won from a defensive position! Regards, Don
