Do you think that Congress will learn a lesson that a few billion in the hands of consumers works as stimulus vs pissing 700 billion down the drain on special projects through bureaucracies?

I'm not saying clunkers was right or wrong but it does work.

I heard a quote from an auto dealer who said he's bowled over by how many 800+ credit scores are coming into his place.

More evidence this C.F.C. is simply drawing in people who're willing to trade in their POS shading the driveway to get something back from the Gubber Mint.

Net fuel savings will be marginal, if at all. Most of what's being traded probably were second or third vehicles that were on their last legs and hardly driven. The replacements will be driven that much more. Kind of like "light" cigarettes.
