Robert,

RE: "How long it take for semi equip stocks to recover...Is buying opportunity now ??"

The semi-equip industry has been recovering for most of 97. Company Q reports have indicated that the recovery will continue into 98. The stock price volatility has been due to momentum plays on very positive earnings forecasts followed by events which called the forecasts into question. First, listen to the AMAT conference call on November 20. Then read the discussions on this and the AMAT thread. Second, buy at prices that provide downside protection against bad news and expect to average down. Some of these prices: AMAT 25, EGLS 16, KLAC 35, LRCX 32, NVLS 27, SVGI 20, UTEK 20. After the AMAT conference call, it may be prudent to enter a higher prices.

Cary

Although I certainly agree with Cary that we should be averaging in...if you look at the high low on some of these stocks I dont think it could hurt to buy something at tomorrows a.m. sell off to get started.
