Are you seriously that stupid?

Because the US government had not approved those treatments i.e. the FDA.

As a strong potential medical tourist, I can tell you the the flow is FROM the US, TO foreign destinations, many of which are beginning to specialize in certain procedures.

Admittedly, most of these are uninsured people fleeing the ridiculous cost of US health care, but many of the places are acquiring reputations as the place to go for certain surgeries. This will only accelerate in the future.

Come (as I have) to Mass Eye and Ear, Brighan and Women's or any other major hospital in Boston....patients from foreign countries are a significant percentage of patients being treated....
