Freedom - I suppose - but I always see it more of a legal lotto - case by case. Real harm deserves compensation, but in a consistent way and price tag for that matter.

Sorry man. If a doctor cuts off the wrong leg in Florida you have little recourse. Yeah if it's really stupid you might get $150K after legal fees because the insurance company doesn't want the publicity, but that's about it. If a Doc does something really stupid and kills your kid... ~$150K.

That's it. Live with it. The sacrifice of freedom we have to live with because of run away medical inflation. Tort law is canceled for medicine.
