I bought some QNTM today at 34 1/4. I hope this stock doesn't end up like one of those that I feel like I'm "stuck" with...
I think the fundamentals of QNTM look much better than SEG/WDC. Both of them also took a nose dive late today... I wonder what happened?

<<I don't think it is QNTM specific, though. Many other tech stocks got creamed today. Take a look at DELL, for example. >>

I agree. I think it was the mutual fund managers locking in profits.
The mutual fund managers operate with a year-end of Oct 31. With the increased volatility in the market, I don't think the fund managers want to risk having a good year ruined over the next few precarious days.

Although they will be back in a heartbeat if we start to rally!

The Qntm TPR (Temporary Price Reduction) should end by early November (JMO).

QNTMs 50 day EMA was around 35. When it didn't penetrate it in a decisive manner today, I unloaded my 3K between 34 and 35, sensing that it might be awhile. I lost money by doing so but decided to bite the bullet. After checking this afternoon late, I'm glad I did it - I'd have lost more money if I'd held. The whole DD sector will be back within the next 6 months I think. It's this overall market that has me "concerned" as well as the experience of not being able to reach my broker on Monday [was on hold for 30 min with Charles Schwab with no pickup between 8:30 and 9:00 AM EST]. Most of my stuff came back to near the pre-crash level so I closed out everything today except RES and CDT.
