><>...Hi Barry....><>

You ask: Could it be connected to this verse:

43"Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and
given to a people who will
produce its fruit. ?

Very well it could be Barry.

Also consider if you would, very specifically, the following, as it relates to the same parable:

Matt 23:37-38
37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

1Thes 2:15-16
15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

Ps 118:22-23
22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
23 This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

Isa 28:16
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Isa 53:3
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Householder= God
vineyard=World
servants= His prophets and or all who bearand share good fruit.
husbandmen=Law keepers Or those who sat in the seat of Moses.Matt.23:2
son= Jesus Christ
fruit= God's word

And so it was that they (Law keepers) did kill the prophets (servants)
and also when the son came (Jesus Christ), they killed Him also, in an attempt to keep the fruit (the word of God) from going forward.
This that our Lord spoke came to pass as they (the law keepers) were hearing it, and is continuing to this day.

Yes this parable is also closely knitted together with the parable of the Tares.
==========

Barry I know that this is just a matter of semantics but it is very important that we not mix up the words Israel,and Jews and or the country Israel, they are not interchangable in scripture.

Israel did not reject Christ.
Jews Rejected and still reject Christ.
Israel is a country, whose govt. is made up of the tribe of
Judah (Jews)

Israel as spoken of in Scripture most always refers to The House of Israel (children of Jacob-Israel) of which Judah (the Jews) was only a minor part...Only Judah can be referred to as Jews.

Matt 15:24
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

John 1:11
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

His own were of Judah...the Jews

Have to go, may God continue to bless and keep you.
