I would expect them to work for just that. Lower costs means they can pass that off to their clients and shore up their profits at the same time.

The only reason why health insurance companies are being blamed (as opposed to Big Pharma, the AMA, nurses unions, etc.) is because they've been targeted by the Democrats for both political and ideological reasons. Can't have private insurance in a single-payer system, which is what Obama ultimately wants.
