I am not on this thread much, but didn't Dell miss expectations when they announed? It just wasn't a big deal to miss the whisper at that time. I think they like Dell because they can spell it. CPQ makes more money and will continue to make more... Bruce

James He heard it from me. I heard it from my broker at about 4:15 when he called. Said someone dumped 350,000 shares of cpq close to clossing, because of rumor on trading floor that Dell would not make .64 (?) number this qt. Knows I follow cpq close & own a number of shares. He is exhausted & wanted to confirm that cpq had already announced qt earnings. He knew this, but was too tired to trust his memory. Had to write up all orders old fashion way yesterday starting at 11:00 due to system behind. Paper up to his ears last night after returning early from vacation due to market. Trust this guy greatly - 18 yr relationship. He has saved me several times &has made me some money. Orginally got me into compaq first time about 89 or 90, & he is in cpq himself. No harm intended to Dell just explaining drop today on bad rumor. Did Dell drop? No time to check yet. Can anyone check on large sell orders close to closing? Qt referred to was 3rd qt, not 4th qt on a calendar basis. Catch my post around 4:30 or 5:00 today. NW
