But they are not and the workers don't work for them.....the workers work for the company and are paid by the company. Again, the UAW performs no productive function. So the UAW is not necessary to "keep the companies running"....as you said they were. I didn't say that. I said that the reason Obama would've sided with the UAW (read: the workers) over the debtholders is because the UAW would've kept the company open. The debtholders more than likely would've shut it down. -Z
