SOB knows that we need differing opinions. That is what keeps the high traffic to Slider's thread.

Its like a crash dive in a plane. The obvious correction to save you is to pull back on the stick. Wrong move. You have to push forward on the stick to get out of the dive. That's what Obama is doing.

Not to defend FOX news, because if Bush was still in the White House FOX would not be saying what they're saying.

But having said that, let's clear something up......

"Obama, who has taken on the task of trying to save US capitalism, is depicted as a dangerous radical, a socialist. There is no evidence that Bush would have done anything different - he would also have left Bernanke in charge of financial matters - but logic doesn't have a chance against hate and fear. Obama is a Fascist, a Nazi. Amazing ignorance."

Yes, Bush would be doing the same thing. So don't get distracted by FOX and partisan Republicans. What partisans on both sides still haven't figured out is that it's no longer Dem vs. Repub. It's Dem and Repub vs. the people. Don't see how you can read Slider and not understood him to say that. You may very well disagree with that, but that's Slider's position.

More and more people are waking up to the fact that neither party any longer represents them in Washington. You may not agree with everything Slider says, but more and more people are disillusioned with both parties, and not because of the economy but because the actions our representatives take scream loud and clear the people don't matter.

>>It's a diet that is clearly very attractive to many on this board. Angry whites who want someone to blame for their declining standard of living.

I would suggest not making glib assumptions about the race or the financial status of other people on this thread.
