I had the same experience. Waterhouse told me that even though the order was indicated cancelled, that it is not guarranteed. He said they will be changing the wording on webbroker to indicate that cancelled orders are really cancelled pending. Also, market orders are executed instantly, and therefore really cannot be cancelled. I traded at 10:22 am and received confirmation at 5:17pm.

This is exactly my point:

(1)If it got executed in a few seconds it should not take them a full
market day to report.
(2)Web Broker should not display the open order is canceled.
(3)If market order is not cancelable, Web Broker should not even
allow user to do so.
