LOL....well....for the most part, the people who live in my neighborhood are family types and have moved beyond the drug addled part. But I do have a theory on why the hollywood types tend to be liberal. It has to do with making ridiculous amounts of money to the point where deep inside they know that it is unearned money. It's easy to be generous with unearned money. It's also easy to be generous with other people's money. But you would be amazed at how vicious the hollywood types are toward more conservative voices. My wife works in the industry and has learned to keep her political views to herself. It is definitely career limiting to be conservative in hollywood.

Ann, as the country watches the Kennedy funeral, be aware that my generation - those born between 1928 and 1942 - never had an elected President. Ted Kennedy was the closest we ever got. The so-called Silent Generation was responsible for most of the advances in civil rights during the 1960s. For many of us, Ted Kennedy was our leader who picked up the torch after the assassinations of John Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King. We honor his many achievments.
