Maybe not, but nearly 10% of our Presidents have been assassinated over the course of our history and many more attempts have been made. en.wikipedia.org Also, a bunch of wealthy people tried to overthrow FDR. I'm not sure things are that much worse than they've ever been, if at all. Some things are just exacerbated and overemphasized by 24/7 news coverage and the internet. -Z
